Safe to say, the Dallas Stars are hot right now.

With points in 10 of their last 11 games and three wins in a row, Dallas is tied for the second-most points (23) in the league with Anaheim and New Jersey.

The Stars’ latest win featured a two-goal comeback capped by an overtime winner from Roope Hintz on the road against Ottawa. Head coach Glen Gulutzan praised the team’s performance in the gritty road victory.

“As a coach, you’re always searching for the perfect game, but as I’m realizing this year in the league … it’s tough,“ Gulutzan said Wednesday afternoon on The Hardline on 96.7 FM/1310 The Ticket (KTCK-AM). “You never quite get the perfect game, but I just loved our resiliency of our guys and it’s something to be said for scratching out points on the road being behind and coming back like we did.”

Gulutzan also spoke about the team’s physicality and willingness to grind from top to bottom.

“Our top guys have been great. Our bottom guys have really pitched in too, even if you look around the league. Overall, I think there’s another gear for our team, but I do like some things we’re doing,” Gulutzan said. “We’re more physical. If you look, we out-hit a physical team in Ottawa last night and we’re grinding out. We’ve got a little bit more of a grind mentality. … I do like to grind because at the end of the day, when the chips are down and it’s 4th in inches, that’s what it becomes.”
