Scott Wedgewood will be sticking around the crease in Denver for a little longer.
The Colorado Avalanche announced a one-year extension for the goaltender on Thursday.
TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston reports the deal is worth $2.5 million.
Wedgewood, 33, in his second season with the team. Through 14 games, Wedgewood is 10-1-2 with a .913 save percentage and goals against average of 2.26.
A native of Brampton, Ont., Wedgewood was originally selected with the 84th overall pick of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft out of the Ontario Hockey League’s Plymouth Whalers by the New Jersey Devils. He made his NHL debut in 2016.
Wedgewood has appeared in 168 games across eight seasons with the Devils, Arizona Coyotes, Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators and Avs. He was a “Black Ace” for the Tampa Bay Lightning when they won the Stanley Cup in 2020.
For his career, Wedgewood is 72-55-26 with a .907 SV% and 2.82 GAA.
Wedgewood is currently playing in the final season of a two-year, $3 million deal signed with the Predators in the summer of 2024.
