King, Dineen, Tugnutt and Klesla celebrated by Columbus Blue Jackets
Former Blue Jackets coach Dave King joined Kevin Dineen, Ron Tugnutt and Rostislav Klesla to celebrate the franchise’s first 25th anniversary night.
Brandon Dubinsky had something in common with the season ticket holders that he and four other former Blue Jackets met with to start the team’s next 25th Anniversary celebration.
He’s one of them.
Dubinsky, who played the final seven of his 13 NHL seasons in Columbus, still lives in the area and became a season ticket holder not long after retiring in 2021.
Dubinsky his former teammate Matt Calvert, along with former Blue Jackets goalie Marc Denis, defenseman Aaron Johnson and forward David Vyborny are going to be part of the second of five 25th Anniversary Night celebrations at Nationwide Arena.
All five players will also sign autographs on the main concourse an hour before the club’s 7 p.m. game against the New York Rangers on Nov. 15. They will also be honored during a pregame ceremony celebrating their contributions to the organization.
Dubinsky, the ultimate NHL pest, spent the first six years of his career with the Rangers before a trade on July 23, 2012, brought him to Columbus in a deal that sent Rick Nash to New York.Â
Denis was a Blue Jackets goalie during the franchise’s first five seasons. Calvert played the first eight of his 11 NHL seasons in Columbus. Johnson spent four of his eight NHL seasons with the Blue Jackets. Vyborny spent his entire seven-year NHL career after joining the franchise in its inaugural season.
