The Ontario Hockey League has suspended Brampton Steelheads defenseman Luke Dragusica, the league announced Saturday, after Dragusica slashed Oshawa Generals defenseman Brady Blaseg in the head during a match on Friday night before delivering a cross-check with Blaseg down on the ice.

Brampton’s Luke Dragusica has been suspended pending review as a result of actions (Match, Slashing) on Nov. 14th vs. Oshawa.

The incident occurred during the third period of Friday night’s Steelheads-Generals game in Brampton, with the Steelheads ahead 3-0. Dragusica was given a match penalty after the slash, and Brampton hung on to win 3-1.
Dragusica’s suspension is “pending review” according to the OHL’s website.
Blaseg was bleeding as he was tended to by a trainer after the slash. The Athletic has reached out to the Generals for a status update and comment.
The Athletic has also reached out to the Steelheads and the OHL for comment.
Blaseg has two assists in 19 games this year. The 17-year-old Ottawa, Ontario, native is in his second year of his OHL career with the Generals.
Dragusica, a Stoney Creek, Ontario native, is in his third year in the OHL, and his second with the Steelheads. The 18-year-old has two assists in 15 games this season.
