Tonight the New York Rangers will take on the Detroit Red Wings back on home ice before starting a road trip, but they will be without their head coach.

Mike Sullivan will not be behind the Rangers bench tonight (personal reasons). David Quinn and Joe Sacco will split head coaching duties in his absence.

Players to watchArtemi Panarin

Panarin has been a completely different player since shaving his head, and he’s a player to watch because he just had a breakout game against the Red Wings. The Blueshirts defeated Detroit 4-1 at Little Caesars Arena on November 7, and The Breadman tallied a goal and two assists for three points in the decisive win. in 26 career games against the Red Wings, Panarin has scored 17 goals and added 27 assists for 44 points which is the fifth most points he has against a single team in his NHL career to date.

Vladislav Gavrikov

Gavrikov has been a great addition for the Rangers, and the perfect partner for Adam Fox. Thus far he’s been an excellent shutdown defender, and has been on the ice for just 1.42 goals against per 60. He’s rocking a 57.69 GF%, a 54.01 CF%, and a 55.91 xGF%.

Best defensive pairings by lowest goals against per 60. (With at least 150 minutes played together 5 on 5). https://t.co/3qd1ufVXHS pic.twitter.com/zT9Q225qCh

— MoneyPuck.com (@MoneyPuckdotcom) November 16, 2025Noah Laba

Laba was born in Northville, Michigan, and he scored against the Red Wings with tons of family and friends in the building. He’s been a nice surprise for the Rangers this season, and is averaging 12:29 in the bottom six. Laba has three goals and three assists thus far, and it’s a respectable bit of contribution for the young center. From an underlying numbers standpoint, Laba has a 67.19 GF%, a 48.29 CF%, and a 52.92 xGF%, all of which are pretty solid for a rookie.
