Sport: NHL

This week, there is more NHL action than most, with 13 teams playing four games each over 7 days. With that much selection, it can be difficult for fantasy hockey managers to decide which players they should consider picking up off the waiver wire. Therefore, listed below are three teams with players that fantasy managers should take a chance on this week, given the matchups for each option.

Top Week 7 Fantasy Hockey Schedules
The Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks surprisingly find themselves in a playoff spot halfway through November, and after their comeback win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, they have a weaker schedule starting on Tuesday. This week, Chicago will enter battle with the Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres, both of whom sit at the bottom of the Eastern and Western Conferences.

Additionally, the Blackhawks will play the Seattle Kraken at home, a team that has been middling on the road. Although Chicago will also play the best team in the NHL, the Colorado Avalanche, the game being on Sunday should be another reason to pick up Blackhawks players to avoid using extra adds later in the week. For those looking for Chicago players that will target multiple categories, talent such as Frank Nazar and Ryan Donato are suitable options for this week.

The New York Islanders

The Islanders just moved into a playoff spot after improving to 6-3-1 over their last 10 games, and with a back-to-back scheduled against two weaker opponents, fantasy managers can capitalize on the team looking to further their success. After what should be two tightly contested matchups against the Dallas Stars and the Detroit Red Wings, the Islanders will play the Seattle Kraken and the St. Louis Blues over the weekend.

Good managers know that any fantasy matchup can change on the weekend, and with players like Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Emil Heineman, and Kyle Palmieri producing on both ends of the ice, it would be wise to consider New York’s best for another week where they play 4 games.

The Boston Bruins

Outside of playing the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, the remainder of the Bruins’ schedule is favorable for week 7. Boston will be heading on their yearly road trip to western California, where they will play three teams that are currently enduring their own separate issues. On Tuesday, the Bruins play the Anaheim Ducks, who have lost three straight. The following Thursday, they will visit the Los Angeles Kings, who are 1-4-2 at home. Finally, on Sunday, they will compete against the San Jose Sharks, who have the ninth-worst goals against in the league.

Boston has only lost two of their last ten games, making players such as Morgan Geekie and Pavel Zacha beneficial pick-ups for managers looking to improve scoring, face-offs, and hits this week against struggling competition.

Along with the options listed above, the Calgary Flames, San Jose Shark,s and Seattle Kraken all play four games between Tuesday and Sunday, with each team having valuable assets on the waiver wire. Make sure to return next week for fantasy hockey advice for Week 8.
