If you’re a big fan of both the Florida Panthers and Chick-Fil-A, then the team and restaurant chain have targeted you directly.
The Panthers and Chick-Fil-A teamed up for a new promotion: As part of the 30 Saves program, every time Panthers goalies make 30 or more saves in a home game, you can order a free eight-piece chicken nugget at Miami-Dade and Broward County Chick-Fil-A restaurants.
The Panthers have already triggered the promotion, announced on Nov. 13, when backup Florida goalie Daniil Tarasov made 37 saves against the Capitals last Thursday.
The deal, which must be accessed through the restaurant’s mobile app, allows customers to get a free eight-count chicken nugget order, which would normally cost $5.45.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Chick-fil-A to the Panthers family,” Panthers vice president of corporate partnerships Joshua Korlin said in a press release. “Together with Chick-fil-A restaurants in South Florida, we’re creating fan-first experiences that celebrate the excitement of the game and reward our incredible fans.”
Although the opportunity is there for free chicken, do not expect to get the free meal often. Last season, Panthers goalies had 30 or more saves just 16 times in 105 games between the regular season and Stanley Cup title. This season, the Panthers have racked up 30 saves three times in 19 games. Florida also allows a league-low 24.74 shots per game.
