Major League Volleyball will come to Minnesota in 2027.(Hand-out | Major League Volleyball)
ST. PAUL, Minn. (Northern News Now) – Spokespeople from Grand Casino Arena announced Tuesday afternoon that a new Minnesota franchise will be added to the Major League Volleyball (MLV).
The Minnesota team will begin competing in January of 2027.
“We are extremely excited to announce that Minnesota will be home to a new Major League Volleyball team beginning in 2027,” said Craig Leipold, majority owner and principal investor in Minnesota Sports & Entertainment.
According to MLV, Minnesota will be the 11th team to join the league.
Home matches for the new MLV team will be played at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul.
The arena is currently the home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and the PWHL’s Minnesota Frost.

There is currently no official logo or team name, but it is expected to be announced in 2026.
