Patrick Roy explodes at Mikko Rantanen at the end of the game in an intense moment between the New York Islanders and the Dallas Stars.

The game between the Dallas Stars and the New York Islanders took a very unexpected turn.

Nobody expected to see such a dangerous play, but more importantly, no one imagined Patrick Roy would completely lose his patience like that.

And yet, that’s exactly what happened on the ice.

It was a very dangerous action that changed everything. Mikko Rantanen shoved Alexander Romanov in the back while he was vulnerable near the boards.

Patrick Roy defends Alexander Romanov with a very clear message

Unsurprisingly, Romanov stayed down and needed help to get off the ice.

For his part, Rantanen received a five-minute major penalty and was ejected. But the moment causing the biggest reaction isn’t the penalty.

It’s Patrick Roy’s reaction.

You can see him yelling at Rantanen in a sequence already circulating everywhere online. Roy moves in and sends a very direct warning.

“You won’t finish the game at home! Why won’t you come and talk in New York!? You’re not gonna f**** finish that game!”

– Patrick Roy to Rantanen

This isn’t the first time Patrick Roy defends his players with this kind of fire. After the game, he toned things down.

He spoke about a lack of respect toward Romanov.

“When you see the number, you have to lay off. Everybody knows that. You don’t go through the guy. To me, it’s disrespectful for our guys. That should not be part of our game”

– Roy

I think everyone understands why Roy reacted that way, even if it was intense to see him explode like that, and I believe the Islanders like seeing their coach that invested.

And above all, all eyes will be on the next game between Dallas and New York.

Things could get rough again.
