Tyler Myers has been a reliable and solid defensemen for years with the Vancouver Canucks, and he recently hit 400 points last night against the Tampa Bay Lightning with an assist on Marcus Pettersson‘s goal also assisted by Elias Pettersson.

“The Vancouver Canucks are looking ahead to the 2025-26 season and they’re hoping for another big year from defenseman Tyler Myers, who registered his fourth 20+ point campaign with the club.”-Jaxon

Myers hits 400 point mark with Canucks.

Lindsey Horsting of NHL.com reported on the tremendous feat Myers accomplished with his career. It wasn’t the most memorable assist, as the goal was an empty netter, but it’s an assist all the same.

“It’s cool. Ask any guy when they hit a milestone; it’s always a pretty cool feeling. Not the nicest of assists, but not a lot of people ask how you got it. We were laughing about it after the game, but I’ll take it.»-Myers

There currently five active members of the Canucks with 400 or more points including Brock Boeser, Evander Kane, Quinn Hughes and Elias Petterson, Hughes being the only other defensemen. Myers provides both a solid defensive game and a leadership in the locker room.

“It’s Myers’ approach that stands out as much as his 6-foot-8 frame. His calm demeanour, attention to detail, and willingness to help his teammates make him a steadying presence on and off the ice which has helped him maintain longevity in the league.”-Horsting

The Canucks haven’t had the most memorable season as of yet, but it is not because of a lack of leadership as Myers provides that in spades. Hopefully it will start to affect the rest of the team towards better results.
