The night was already special for the Montreal Canadiens, but no one expected the surge of emotion between the Xhekaj brothers, who fought hard to reach this moment.
What a beautiful wake-up this morning for Canadiens fans! Florian Xhekaj was playing his first NHL game, and the Bell Centre was buzzing from his very first shift.
You could clearly feel how much he wanted to make a difference.
He picked up his first point on Josh Anderson‘s goal, he was physical with the opponent… his NHL dream was becoming real.
A family pride impossible to hide
But during the game, many reactions also caught attention online.
Journalist Anthony Martineau noticed Arber’s intense game, as he also shined physically, notably with a huge hit on Samuel Blais.
“You can say it, he played one h*ll of a game.”
Martineau replied without hesitation and jokingly:
“Perfect: He played one h*ll of a game.
There are limits to what I can say publicly. But you can imagine.”

You could see the emotion in his eyes, and his words were simple but full of meaning. In my opinion, this is exactly the kind of story that makes people love hockey even more.
