Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube spoke to the media after last night’s loss to the Montreal Canadiens, where he gave an update on Jake McCabe.
Last night was a difficult one for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as they lost to the Montreal Canadiens by a score of 5-2 during Hockey Night in Canada.
It was yet another blow to a Maple Leafs team that is already dealing with a plethora of injuries. Now, the Leafs have lost seven of their last eight, and they cannot afford to lose McCabe for a long time.
How long is Jake McCabe out for?
After the game, head coach Craig Berube spoke to the media, where he was immediately asked about McCabe’s condition and whether or not there is a timeline for his return.
In true Maple Leafs fashion, there was no update on the defenseman. Berube could not give a concrete answer, and for now, there is no telling whether or not McCabe will have to miss time.
If you remember, McCabe took a puck to the head last season and had to miss more than a week of action. The Leafs can only hope that this isn’t the case this time around.
Maple Leafs injuries continue to mount
Leafs fans are well aware of just how unlucky the team has been this season when it comes to injuries. It feels like the whole roster is out.
This has forced the Maple Leafs to call up a plethora of players, and it has also led to a disjointed lineup that is not conducive to winning hockey games.
Something needs to change in Toronto, although the team cannot make any value judgments until they actually get their team healthy.
