NHL Injury Report for November 24:
Connor Hellebuyck, G – Winnipeg Jets

The full rundown on Connor Hellebuyck from #NHLJets head coach Scott Arniel.

The minor arthroscopic procedure will take place tomorrow, with a 4-6 week timeline.

Hellebuyck had been dealing with the injury since training camp.

— Mitchell Clinton (@MitchellClinton) November 21, 2025

Hellebuyck had minor arthroscopic knee surgery this week and will miss the next 4-6 weeks. This places his likely return to games right after the Christmas break. There is no replacing Hellbuyck. He’s been the best goalie in the NHL for the past three seasons.

Thomas Milic, 22, who has yet to play an NHL game, will serve as Comrie’s backup. The vast majority of starts will fall on Comrie’s shoulders. The Jets don’t need him to be great, but he will need to be better than the 3.48 goals against average (GAA) and .879 save percentage (SV%) he put up in the first two games of Hellebuyck’s absence.

Braydon Point, C, and Nikita Kucherov RW – Tampa Bay Lightning

No update from Jon Cooper postgame regarding Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point. “Too soon” was his response #GoBolts #TBLightning

— Lightning Insider (@Erik_Erlendsson) November 23, 2025

Quite the game for the Lightning. It’s tough losing two-thirds of your first line and 40% of your first power play unit. This would be a big blow to the Lightning and fantasy owners alike.

You simply cannot replace a Nikita Kucherov; 120-point forwards don’t grow on trees. Luckily, he’s been pretty durable during his career. Let’s hope it’s not serious.

Brayden Point is no slouch either. Five times he has produced a .9 point per game pace, or better. It’s been a rough start to the year for Point, rocking 11 points in 21 games, .52 points per game. He has a history of playing through injuries, so perhaps he was already banged up.

Updates should be coming after Monday’s skates for both Point and Kucherov. If they miss any time, expect Oliver Bjorkstrand, RW, and Anthony Cirelli to step into bigger roles, including the power play.

Jason Zucker, LW/RW – Buffalo Sabres

First game back and Zucks gets the belt! 👏#LetsGoBuffalo pic.twitter.com/z3EWNbPwN0

— Buffalo Sabres (@BuffaloSabres) November 22, 2025

Boy, did the Sabres miss him. Friday night was his first game in three weeks. Not only did he pick up a goal and two assists in his return, but the Sabres won the game 9-3. Sabres and winning are words that have not been spoken in the same sentence often this year.

He resumes his place on the Sabres’ second line and the first power play unit. He’s been an underrated fantasy asset the past two seasons. In a 14-team dynasty, I was able to claim in off the waiver wire.

Charlie McAvoy, D – Boston Bruins

Charlie McAvoy is out indefinitely after having facial surgery.

This is about as bad as could be expected for McAvoy after taking a puck to the face. The Bruins couldn’t provide a timetable for his return. I’d be shocked if we see him before January. It would be pure speculation to put a timetable on his return, but I’m thinking a couple of months.

Every unfortunate incident provides a window of opportunity for someone else on the depth chart. Right now, that edge goes to Hampus Lindholm, who’s eating up over 50% of the power play minutes. Lindholm is better known for his two-way play, but he does have a 50-point season under his belt with the Bruins (2022-23).

Toronto Maple Leafs – Anthony Stolarz, G; Auston Matthews, C; Matthew Knies, LW

Maple Leafs injury updates:

– No further updates on Matthews or Knies, both on the ice today

– Stolarz has yet to get back on the ice

– Carlo has not been on the ice, Berube is hoping he is on Monday

– Roy still a ways away, Berube has no timeline

– Tanev remains long term

— Anna Dua (@AnnaNoelleDua) November 21, 2025

The update this week wasn’t good news for Stolarz. The injury is worse than they thought, and he has yet to resume skating. In the meantime, it’s Joseph Woll’s net, with Dennis Hildeby playing backup.

So far, Woll has done little to sway anyone that he deserves the full-time starting job.

Both Matthews and Knies are skating, but no timeline has been listed for their return. They don’t play again until Wednesday, and there’s a chance one or both could be back against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
