The Leafs have been dogged by injuries in the month of November, with multiple key players missing games due to various ailments.
It has contributed to a 1-5-2 mark over their last eight games, which has caused the Maple Leafs to drop to the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
Head coach Craig Berube referenced the injury luck when he spoke on Saturday about how the team can turn it around to break out of their current rut. “Obviously getting some people back in the lineup. That will help,” Berube said. “But until we decide to dig in and play the right way for 60 minutes on a consistent basis it’s going to be hard to pull yourselves out of anything.”
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning will be missing both Erik Cernak and Brayden Point from their lineup on Monday night, as the two have been ruled out with injuries.
Lightning head coach Jon Cooper told reporters that Cernak is considered week to week and will miss “significant time,” while Point could be in the lineup for Wednesday’s game.
The Lightning will take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday before battling the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. At 12-7-2 entering play on Monday, the Lightning sit second in the Atlantic Division.
