Sergey Pryakhin is a veteran sports journalist with over 25 years of experience covering international events. Since beginning his career in 1999, he has reported from the Olympic Games (2006, 2008, 2010, 2012), FIFA World Cup (2006, 2010), UEFA Euro (2008, 2012), and dozens of other major international competitions.

Before joining RG, Sergey worked as an independent correspondent for NHL.com/ru (since 2018) and contributed to the Soviet Sport newspaper. As the former deputy chief editor of the football department at Soviet Sport, he has conducted one-on-one interviews with elite athletes, including Pavel Bure, Roberto Carlos, and Evgeni Plushenko, as well as renowned coaches such as Guus Hiddink and Fabio Capello, among many other prominent figures in the world of sports.

Sergey has transformed his passion for sports and data into a profession, having studied sports statistics for over 20 years. In his work, he actively applies modern tools of data analysis, with a strong focus on accuracy, transparency of sources, and neutrality — principles that align with the standards of the Trust Project and Google Publisher Center.

He is fluent in English and Russian, with a specialization in NHL hockey.
