Kevin Lankinen won’t travel with the team for Wednesday’s contest against the Anaheim Ducks, general manager Patrik Allvin announced Tuesday.
The team has recalled goalie Jiri Patera from Abbotsford under emergency conditions.
Lankinen got the start in Vancouver’s last game on Sunday against the Calgary Flames. He allowed five goals on 21 shots, dropping his record on the season to 4-7-2.
He has a 3.64 goals-against average and a .880 save percentage in 13 games played (12 starts).
The Canucks are already without starter Thatcher Demko, who’s been sidelined with a lower-body injury suffered on Nov. 11.
Nikita Tolopilo will most likely start against the Ducks, in what will be just his second career NHL start.
Vancouver is sitting seventh in the Pacific Division at 9-12-2.
