The San Jose Sharks failed to slow down the Colorado Avalanche as they won their 10th-straight game 6-0 on Wednesday.

The Avalanche got goals from Ross Colton, Nathan MacKinnon, Josh Manson, Sam Malinski, Joel Kiviranta, and Atturi Lehkonen. Colorado scored three goals in a stretch of 1:16 in the second period. Mackenzie Blackwood earned his second straight shutout with 26 saves. The Avalanche has also had three consecutive shutouts as a team.

Yaroslav Askarov was under fire all night, and although the goals weren’t his fault, he was pulled in the second period after giving up four goals on 19 shots. Alex Nedeljkovic made 21 saves in relief.

Macklin Celebrini’s five-game point streak came to an end with the San Jose Sharks getting shut out. Tyler Toffoli played despite not practicing on Tuesday or skating during Wednesday’s morning skate.

Colton gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead 3:39 into the first period. Colton took the puck down the right wing and beat Askarov over the glove.

MacKinnon made it 2-0 Avalanche with a power play goal. It was a classic MacKinnon one-timer off a pass from Cale Makar over the glove of Askarov.

Malinski makes it 3-0 with a wicked wrister over the glove of Askarov at 3:44 of the second period.

Manson pushed it to 4-0 and chased Askarov in the net at 4:51. Nedeljkovic plays for the first time since last Saturday.

Nine seconds later, Joel Kiviranta quickly welcomed Nedeljkovic into the game with a tap-in goal.

Lehkonen made it 6-0 after he put in his own rebound at 16:15 of the third period. MacKinnon had the primary assist and leads the NHL in points with 39.
