Robby Fabbri has been a productive NHLer over his career, and after not finding a new team in the summer, Elliotte Friedman is reporting that will change soon.

The 2025/26 NHL season is well and truly under way, and with teams finally getting a handle on where they are moving forward, trades are going to start flowing in the near future.

Whether that’s struggling teams selling players off or contenders looking to be aggressive, expect plenty of change before the deadline, but there’s also some very intriguing veterans available in free agency that could benefit contending teams in a big way.

Robby Fabbri set to sign his next deal soon

That brings up one player that went heavily overlooked in free agency over the summer, with Elliotte Friedman now reporting on the future of former first-round pick Robby Fabbri, who last played with the Ducks in 2024/25.

According to Friedman’s latest 32 Thoughts piece, Fabbri will be looking to land with a new team this week sometime, and while we know very little else, he also reported that it won’t be the rumoured Ottawa Senators.

Last season, Fabbri appeared in 44 games for the Anaheim Ducks, tallying 8 goals and 16 points in that time, taking his career tally to 106 goals and 216 points in 442 games played for St. Louis, Detroit and Anaheim.

Only time will tell just how productive the 29-year old can be when he returns to the National Hockey League at some point over the next week, but for any contending team out there that needs depth, Fabbri would be a fantastic pickup as he looks to resume his NHL career this season.
