I want to reflect on the Birds since Jeffrey Lurie bought the Eagles Football organization. Back in 1994, when Lurie bought the team, the Eagles were often the laughing stock of the NFL.
Since then, Lurie declared that the Eagles would be the “Gold Standard” in the league. We have been blessed to have an owner that has delivered on his promises. On this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for our Philadelphia Eagles.
On Black Friday the Birds play host to the Chicago Bears at the Link. Kickoff is at 3pm and the Eagles need to win this game. After last week’s collapse in Dallas, blowing a 21 point lead, the Eagles find themselves in the national spotlight in this marquee matchup. Since 2013, the Eagles are 6-0 in their last six games against the Bears and 3-0 at home. You can listen to Merrill Reese and Mike Quick calling all the action starting at 3pm on 97.3 FM ESPN South Jersey.
On Wednesday night, the Flyers beat the two defending Stanley Cup Champions with a huge come-from-behind win 4-2. Falling behind 2-0, the Flyers fought back and showed that this young Flyers team can overcome adversity and stuck to Head coach Rick Tocchet’s game plan. The Flyers are back in action on Friday afternoon against the New Islanders at UBS Arena, and you can hear the game on Rock 104.1 FM and the ROCK 1041 Mobile App.
The Sixers….. Same old story, no Embiid, No George, and no chance of winning a championship. At some point, the Sixers will have to decide which direction they are going to go. After the Turkey is digested, this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim we will dive into all our philly sports teams’ hot topics.
On Saturday’s show, Producer Nick Earnshaw and former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dave Klemic join me in the studio. We will recap the Eagles vs Bears game. We’ll get the “Keys to the Game” with Fox 29 News sports anchor Scott Grayson brought to you by Blitz’s market of Ocean City. In Hour Two, it’s time for our “High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory of EHT.
On Sunday’s show, Producer Alex Berardis and Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda join me in the studio. We will continue the Eagles conversation and react to the week in the NFL. The Flyers finish up their four-game road trip, and we will take a closer look at the Flyers who are 12-7-3 under new Flyers Head Coach Rick Tocchet. In Hour Two, we will hear from my Fantasy Football Guru Brian Hartley brought to you by Charlies bar of Somers Point.
All that and more, this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN radio South Jersey.

(NOTE: Quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Joe Callahan did not make the list because they only appeared in Preseason games with the Eagles)
