We will have a change in goal for the Montreal Canadiens for this Friday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Head coach Martin St-Louis has made his decision, and Jakub DobeÅ¡ will give up his spot to Samuel Montembeault for tomorrow’s game.
I’m very curious to see how Samuel responds after another very difficult stretch for him.
Samuel Montembeault Back in Net for the Montreal Canadiens
This is what TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie has just confirmed.
Do you like this decision?
It will be a good test for Montembeault on Friday night against the powerhouse Vegas Golden Knights.
“Samuel Montembeault in goal for the Montreal Canadiens against the Vegas Golden Knights.”
Samuel Montembeault, 29, has a 4-5-1 record this season, with a goals-against average of 3.71 and a save percentage of .852.
Jakub Dobeš, 24, has an 8-2-2 record this season, with a goals-against average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .897.
Fortunately, the young goaltender seems to have regained his confidence over the past few games, so tomorrow it will be Montembeault’s turn to deliver an inspiring performance.
As Renaud Lavoie also notes, we already know that Dobeš will be back in net to face Nathan MacKinnon and company when the Montreal Canadiens take on the Colorado Avalanche this Saturday afternoon.
These will be two big games for Martin St-Louis’ group, for the NHL standings in general and especially for their position in the Atlantic Division.
