Celebrity Canucks fan Michael Bublé recently made headlines after getting into several heated exchanges with Vancouver fans on social media. With the Canucks struggling to a 10-12-2 record and sitting second-last in the Pacific Division, frustration has been boiling over, and the team is even considering moving some veteran players.
As fan criticism piled up online, Bublé fired back, writing “shit fan base we are,” which quickly went viral and sparked back-and-forth debates with supporters. Now, he’s speaking out again with fresh comments.
What Did Celebrity Fan Michael Bublé Say About the Vancouver Canucks’ Owners?
During an appearance on the Donnie and Dhali podcast, the five-time Grammy winner stressed that he was speaking only as a lifelong fan. “I do not speak for Canucks fans, I am a Canucks fan. I have been a punter, a sufferer, a guy who has lived and breathed this team,” Bublé said.
He explained that his earlier remarks came from years of built-up frustration: “I’m not backtracking. Zero backtracking.”
Bublé then praised the dedication of the fan base while highlighting its exhaustion. “You have to be [an amazing fan base] to put up with this crap for this many years and still sell out those arenas every day. But, we’re also like a dog that’s been beaten… we just keep waiting for the next bad thing.”
His comments subtly pointed toward the ownership group, led by billionaire Francesco Aquilini, implying that they hadn’t done enough to build a truly competitive team, especially given the Canucks’ current struggles.
Bublé also criticized parts of the local media, saying some members seem to prefer when the team loses, push negative narratives, and continue feeding fans misinformation because the fan base has been worn down over the years.

Despite his frustration, he ended with a message of support and optimism for Canucks fans. “Canucks fans, I love you, and I got you. Whenever I can come and try to speak what I think is the truth, I’m going to do that,” Bublé said.
He expressed his appreciation for them, encouraged them not to let negativity take over, and said he truly believes the organization has a strong management team in place. “We’re going to be okay. I really believe we have a really good management team. I really do,” he added.
The Canucks responded with a strong 5-4 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. Next, they hit the road to face the Sharks on Friday.
