What a battle from the boys in red. After getting a goal called back 20 seconds into the game that should have been counted, then going down 0-2, they fought back, stuck with their game and in regulation. Between Jakob Chychrun extending his goal streak to five games and Logan Thomson making some amazing saves, it was a win that the scouting department would be proud of.

Plus: Overall the Caps played a strong game and they didn’t let a two goal deficit keep them down. They stuck to their game and clawed back to earn — points. That’s the kind of will and determination you want to see from your team. It won’t always be pretty.

Minus: The Caps probably gave up a little too many high danger chances than I’m sure Coach Carbery would like but Thompson came up big and kept them in it. Still, some cleaner passing would have prevented some scary chances against.

Caps Player of the Game: I already mentioned Logan Thompson so I’ll go with him. He stopped 3-4 breakaways and a couple of other great chances, including an amazing glove save with 30 seconds on the clock and the goalie pulled for Toronto. Without him, the Caps don’t win the game.
