The Utah Mammoth faced off against the St. Louis Blues tonight. The Blues would win the game 1-0. Tonight’s loss was the first time this season that Utah had been shut out. In the third period of tonight’s game, the Mammoth lost forward Logan Cooley. Cooley sustained a brutal injury as there was knee-on-knee contact with Blues forward Alexey Toropchenko.

Toropchenko received a five-minute major and a game misconduct following the play. Just an untiring freak injury for Cooley who was off to a career year start. In 25 games this season he has recorded 23 points on 14 goals and nine assists. He’s a plus-seven with three power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and a game-winning goal. He entered tonight on a three-game point streak recording seven points in that span on five goals and two assists. He led the Mammoth in points and goals.

Logan Cooley

The Arizona Coyotes drafted Cooley third overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. In 183 career games, he has 132 points on 59 goals and 73 assists. He’s a career minus-five with 13 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals, and five game-winning goals. He finished fifth in Calder Memorial Trophy voting in his rookie year back in 2023-24.
