Recap:  The Golden Knights were looking to snap their losing streak with a victory over the visiting San Jose Sharks. The Sharks struck first 7:34 into the game, but Tomas Hertl answered back later in the period. After the opening 20 minutes, the game was locked in a 1-1 tie.

Vegas’ offense picked up in the middle frame. First Colton Sissons snapped the tie with his first goal as a Golden Knight and only continued from there. Mitch Marner stretched VGK’s lead to 3-1 with a highlight wraparound goal. Minutes later Tomas Hertl recorded his second goal of the game on the power play. With five minutes remaining, the Sharks picked up two late goals before the intermission.

Vegas fought off San Jose for the entire 3rd period to snap the winless streak.

The Golden Knights’ record improves to 11-6-8 defeating the Sharks 4-3 at T-Mobile Arena. Next up, Vegas will host the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night. Puck drop against the Hawks is scheduled for 7 PM. (Recap by Jason)

Analysis: VGK allowed the first goal once again, but then came alive and made it look like a Golden Knights vs Sharks game. They were much more dangerous in transition and aside from a few individual mistakes that made the game closer on the scoreboard, VGK were in control the entire night. The 3rd period was a clinic in defending at the blue line. It’s a much-needed win, but it’s also an opponent they can’t lose to if they try (which they did try 6 weeks ago). So, take the points, be happy with what happened, but they need to build on this. (Analysis by Ken)

Mark Stone and Zach Whitecloud mob Carl Lindbom after the final horn.

22-year-old gets his long-awaited first win. He’s been better than his record. Really happy for the guy.

Keep defending the blue line like they have for the last 10 minutes and good things will come VGK’s way in the last 10.

Hertl’s got a pair!

After consecutive power plays when the puck never left the zone that didn’t result in goals, this one was a bit ragged for the first minute. Marner got it up high and they used a play they’ve been working a bunch in practice on, the high tip. Perfect shot…
