Elliotte Friedman reports that Tyler Pitlick and Adam Ginning have been placed on waivers, creating an opportunity for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
Another former Hab available on waivers! Elliotte Friedman announced that Tyler Pitlick was placed on waivers today.
For many, it’s a surprise, especially since he has already worn the Montreal Canadiens’ colors and remained useful in a depth role with the Wild. A few seconds later, Friedman added another name, that of Adam Ginning, a young defenseman who could interest more than one team.
In Pitlick’s case, what makes the situation intriguing is that Kent Hughes often likes to take advantage of this kind of opportunity to improve his bottom six without paying much.
“Tyler Pitlick (MIN) on waivers” – Friedman
Why Tyler Pitlick and Adam Ginning change the Canadiens’ strategy
We remember that he previously brought in veteran support players to stabilize the group, and this move could fit his vision if the Habs are still looking for more depth up front.
In my opinion, even if Pitlick isn’t an offensive player, he remains a reliable guy, good in the corners, and versatile enough to fill a gap when injuries pile up.
Given the Canadiens’ recent consistency issues, the idea isn’t that far-fetched!
We’ll have to see whether Montreal tries something or lets this opportunity pass.
