It took him over a month, but Cam Schlittler made it to TD Garden.
The New York Yankees pitcher and Massachusetts native posted a picture on X of the building on Oct. 9 just ahead of the Boston Bruins’ home opener against the Chicago Blackhawks and captioned it “Next stop.”
Schlittler donned a custom Bruins jersey and attended Boston’s shootout win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night.

After Schlittler‘s dominant Game 3 Wild Card performance in which he threw eight scoreless innings in New York’s 4-0 win over the Red Sox, he took to social media to respond to one X user who told Schlittler he wasn’t from Boston after he posted, “Drinking dat dirty water.”
“Went to school in (Boston) for 3 years, I live in Southie during the off season, start preparing for the bruins szn homie,” Schlittler replied.
The Toronto Blue Jays eventually eliminated the Yankees from the American League Division Series in four games. Schlittler couldn’t recreate the performance he had against Boston, and gave up two earned runs on eight hits.
Schlittler was treated to an entertaining game on Saturday as he watched Morgan Geekie score twice to tie Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL lead in goals with 20.
