The Montreal Canadiens will face the Ottawa Senators tomorrow night, and Martin St-Louis has made a decision regarding his goaltender Samuel Montembeault.
Samuel Montembeault will get the net against the Senators
Samuel Montembeault will guard the net tomorrow against the Ottawa Senators.
The Canadiens confirmed on their platforms that the Quebec goaltender will face the Ottawa Senators for the first of two games in two nights, before the Winnipeg Jets visit on Wednesday. A true small key stretch to start December for the Tricolore.
At 29 years old, Montembeault is in the second year of a three-season, 9.45-million-dollar contract, with a 3.15-million cap hit.
This season, he has a goals-against average of 3.49 and a save percentage of 0.864, numbers that do not always reflect the work behind a team still progressing.
On the other side, the Senators arrive in Montreal with a record of 12-8-4 and 28 points, just behind the Canadiens in the Atlantic Division standings. They are, however, coming off a tough 6-1 loss to the Dallas Stars after winning three of their previous four games.
If Montembeault strings together two good outings, the debate in net could, for once, calm down a bit in Montreal.
