The Vegas Golden Knights have made a final decision on reinstated NHL goalie and former Philadelphia Flyers netminder Carter Hart.
The Golden Knights recalled the 27-year-old goalie on Sunday evening, positioning him for a potential start Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Hart’s recall follows the end of his two-week conditioning stint with Vegas’ AHL affiliate and aligns perfectly with his eligibility to return to NHL action.
The goalie was one of the five players suspended by the league and NHLPA as part of a joint agreement related to the 2018 Hockey Canada sexual assault investigation. The suspension expired on Sunday.
According to ESPN’s Kevin Weekes, Hart is indeed set up for his debut on Tuesday when Vegas hosts Chicago.

“Per sources, I’m told G Carter Hart is likely to make his debut start and return to @NHL action with @GoldenKnights this coming Tuesday night,” Kevin Weekes reported Sunday night.
Hart made three appearances for the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights, going 1–2–0 with a 3.07 goals-against average and .839 save percentage.
“It felt great, just to be playing a competitive game of hockey again,” Hart said after his first AHL start. “It’s been a long time. It felt good just to be out there, competing.”

Vegas signed Hart to a two-year, $4 million deal in late October after evaluating him during a professional tryout. The club created cap space for the signing by placing Mark Stone, now back with the team, on long-term injured reserve.
Hart last played in the NHL on Jan. 20, 2024, for the Philadelphia Flyers. He allowed five goals on 15 shots in that loss to the Colorado Avalanche. With Vegas starter Adin Hill recovering from injury, Hart is expected to split starts with Akira Schmid in the Golden Knights’ net.
