Former Detroit Red Wings player Gerard Gallant has found himself on the hot seat with his new club in the KHL.

The latest update hasn’t been too kind to the former Red Wing, to say the least.

There was a lot of excitement behind his arrival, as he took the misfit Vegas Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup in 2017-18. Since then, he hasn’t been able to take his teams deeper than the Eastern Conference Finals.

Early in the year, he led the Dragons to the top of the KHL with a 9-4-1 record, but since then, other KHL clubs have put out the fire.

In the last 17 games with the Dragons, they’re 4-12-1 and 7th in the Western Conference.

There are rumors that the team is looking for his replacement, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

A dismal showing for a coach who was once considered one of the best.

Is former Detroit Red Wing Gerard Gallant in the hot seat in the KHL

Gerard Gallant is a former Red Wings superstar and a successful NHL coach who has hit a rough spot in the KHL. If his record is any indication, he has a shot at climbing out of the hole he’s in, but there’s never a guarantee.

His record in the NHL is 705-369-262-4, and he has taken the Vegas Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup finals.

Is he already wearing out his welcome in the KHL this soon?
