Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards for Week 9
Sam Bennett, Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers may still be struggling without two of their top players, but Sam Bennett is finally starting to do what many believed he would from the start of the season, produce at the rate of a top-6 player with plenty of opportunities to do so. He isn’t on the top power play and isn’t even on the top two lines at the moment, but the Panthers have spread out the lines to have better depth.

Bennet is playing with Carter Verhaeghe and AJ Greer, and the line has found chemistry. Bennett has put up at least a point in five of his past six games, good for three goals and seven points. What made him more attractive in many leagues is his physicality too, in which he gets just as many hits as shots. Florida plays four times this week against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nashville Predators, Columbus Blue Jackets, and New York Islanders.

Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado Avalanche

Gabriel Landeskog missed a lot of time with his injury and came back in the 2025 playoffs, so he still hasn’t played very many games since returning from injury. But lately, he has seemed to have found his stride and put up three goals and six points in his last five games. He is on the top power play and on the second line that has found chemistry as well with Brock Nelson and Ross Colton.

Landeskog has recorded two power-play points in the last three games as well, and in November, had a lot of penalty minutes and hits. The Avalanche also have an easy schedule like the Panthers, as Colorado faces the Vancouver Canucks, Islanders, New York Rangers, and Philadelphia Flyers.

Connor McMichael, Washington Capitals

Connor McMichael is someone who has recently stepped up as well, picking up his play in the latter half of November. He scored three goals and seven points in his last nine games, is shooting more, playing more, and even adding a little bit of physicality to his game. He may be seen as centering a line of Ryan Leonard and Brandon Duhaime, but McMichael is playing much more than just a third liner.

He is on the second power-play unit, but also kills penalties, being used in all situations. He has played over 20 minutes in two of the past three games, so he sees time with better wingers as well. The Capitals have four games this week against the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, and the Blue Jackets.
