On Saturday, the Bruins remained undefeated in overtime contests, winning 3-2 in a shootout thanks Casey Mittelstadt scoring the only goal in the shootout. Morgan Geekie scored both goals in regulation, with assists from Elias Lindholm on both and help from Mittelstadt on the second, which has him back in a tie with Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche for the NHL lead in goals.
For the Red Wings, Lucas Raymond and Michael Rasmussen both scored with Dylan Larkin getting an assist on each goal.
Boston is now 15-12-0 and Detroit is 13-11-2 going into this rematch. The teams will meet up two more times in the regular season, first in January and then again in March.
