The former NHL defenceman is aiming to resume his career after being cleared to play following off-season knee surgery, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Tuesday.

Tinordi, 33, last played in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks two seasons ago, skating in 52 games while recording nine assists and a minus-27.

The Millersville, Md., native has played 205 career NHL games for the Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, Nashville Predators, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and Blackhawks, collecting four goals and 26 assists.

He was originally selected in the first round, 22nd overall, by the Canadiens in the 2010 NHL Draft.

Tinordi spent last season with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers, putting up one goal and four assists in 30 games.
