The Boston Bruins have received a goal-scoring reinforcement against the Detroit Red Wings ahead of the game in Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday.
The Detroit Red Wings will be hosting the Boston Bruins at home Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena in another Original Six showdown.
Ahead of the game tonight, the Bruins have already won one game against the Red Wings 3-2 at TD Garden.
The Boston Bruins gain reinforcement of forward Viktor Arvidsson on Tuesday
He’ll slot in next to Pavel Zacha on the 2nd line tonight.
This season, the Swedish-born forward has played 20 games, and he’s scored 10 points (6-4).
Last season with the Edmonton Oilers, he scored 27 points (15-12) in 67 games and scored 7 points (2-5) in 15 playoff games.
The Red Wings will have to shut down Arvidsson in order to keep a clamp on the red-hot Bruins, who are gunning for a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.
The Bruins are currently 2nd in the Atlantic Division with a record of 15-12-0 and acquired Arvidsson in a trade from the Edmonton Oilers for a 5th-round pick.
The 32-year-old forward is in the final year of his $8 million average annual value (AAV) contract.
The Nashville Predators drafted Arvidsson 112th overall in the 4th round of the 2014 NHL Draft, and he spent the first seven years of his career with the Predators.
One of those seven (2017) saw the team make it to the Stanley Cup finals against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
