The accolades and achievements are beginning to pile up for 20-year-old superstar Connor Bedard.

The Chicago Blackhawks forward was named the NHL’s third star of the month on Tuesday after tallying 23 points (10G, 13A) in 14 games during November. Of those 13 assists, 11 were primary helpers, leading the league in that metric.

Bedard now sits third in the NHL with 37 points through the season’s opening 25 games. The 2023 No. 1 overall pick is also tied for fifth with 16 goals and tied for ninth with 21 assists.

Bedard factored in on 52.3 percent of the team’s goals in November and steered the Blackhawks to a 6-5-3 record. He also placed among the NHL’s monthly leaders in power-play assists (T-5th, 6), goals (T-6th, 10), power-play points (T-6th, 8), assists (T-9th, 13th), and shots on goal (T-11th, 52).

In his 14 games played, Bedard found his way on the scoresheet 10 times. He failed to earn a point in only four contests, the same number of three-point performances he had in November. Bedard racked up at least three points on Nov. 7 vs. CGY (1G, 3A, 4P), Nov. 9 vs. DET (1G, 2A, 3P), Nov. 18 vs. CGY (3G, 3P), and Nov. 30 vs. ANA (2G, 2A, 4P).

The Blackhawks are currently just one point out of a wildcard playoff spot in the Western Conference with an 11-9-5 record on the season. Bedard has been the driving force behind the club’s surprisingly competitive start, leading the team in goals, assists, and points. He has 16 more points than Tyler Bertuzzi, who’s second on the team in that category. Only eight Blackhawks have double-digit points on the year, while Bedard is already pressing for 40.

In case you weren’t already aware, Bedard is developing into one of the most dominant players in the league early in his third NHL season. He finds himself in the thick of the Art Ross race and Hart Trophy conversation past the quarter-mark of the campaign.

Are you watching, Hockey Canada?

The Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon was named the No. 1 star of the month, recording 26 points (11G, 15A) in 13 games. Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars earned the second star of November, picking up 26 points (13G, 13A) in 15 games. What a month for the Central Division!
