COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled forward Luca Del Bel Belluz from their American Hockey League affiliate on an emergency basis and placed forward Mathieu Olivier on injured reserve with an upper body injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Olivier’s placement on injured reserve is retroactive to Nov. 24.

Del Bel Belluz, 22, has recorded three goals and seven assists in 23 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut at the end of the 2023-24 season. The center from Woodbridge, Ontario, has one assist in seven games this season along with six shots on goal.

Columbus selected Del Bel Belluz in the second round, 44th overall, at the 2022 NHL Draft. The 6-1, 185-pound forward has been productive with the Cleveland Monsters this season, posting five goals and six assists in 11 games. In 130 career AHL appearances, he has tallied 41 goals and 54 assists.

Olivier, 28, has three goals and six assists with 44 penalty minutes in 23 appearances this season. The 6-1, 232-pound forward from Biloxi, Mississippi, has recorded 31 goals and 37 assists in 225 games since joining the Blue Jackets via trade on June 30, 2022.

The Blue Jackets return to action Thursday when they host the Detroit Red Wings at Nationwide Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+ and Hulu.
