The NHL has seen some strange and shocking injuries as of late, and now Alexey Toropchenko has added to that as he will now miss time after shock injury.

Recently, Jack Hughes suffered one of the most shocking injuries we’ve seen in the NHL, cutting his hand on a glass at a team dinner that will now result in him missing several weeks of action for the New Jersey Devils.

Now, the St. Louis Blues have suffered through some similar injury woes, with the team now being dealt not one but two major injury blows after their slow start to the 2025/26 season.

Firstly, the team will be without highly touted rookie Jimmy Snuggerud as he is set to undergo surgery on his wrist that will keep him out for some time, but it’s the other injury that’s drawing attention.

According to reports, 26-year old winger Alexey Toropchenko will miss time due to the fact that he suffered burns on his legs from a freak accident at home, as he is officially declared as ‘week-to-week’ as a result.

This comes after Florida’s Eetu Luostarinen also missed time due to burns suffered while barbecuing earlier this season, and all this combined with the Hughes injury is adding to what has been a wild and shocking season of injuries away from the ice in the National Hockey League.

Ultimately, the hope for St. Louis is that he will be out just a few weeks and quickly make his return from the injury, but with their early season struggles and the bad injury luck, things just don’t seem to be breaking the Blues way this season.
