We were treated to a rather unexpected scene Tuesday night at the Bell Centre, involving Lane Hutson and the rugged Brady Tkachuk.

While his team was getting physically pushed around by the Ottawa Senators, Hutson made a big move by going straight into contact with Tkachuk. And the result was quite interesting!

“Hutson going at Tkachuk. Good effort from the much smaller defender.

May have gotten away with one at the end, but it ain’t illegal unless you get caught.”

Interesting scene involving Brady Tkachuk and Lane Hutson

During the commercial break, following Hutson’s hit on Tkachuk, the two had a long discussion. Let’s just say it happened under an official’s supervision:

“Lane Hutson and Brady Tkachuk stared each other down for the entire commercial break.

Tkachuk had fallen after a shoulder-to-shoulder collision with Hutson in the neutral zone one minute earlier.” – Martineau

In the end, Tkachuk didn’t seem to take his “revenge” on Hutson. We love it! It’s too bad it didn’t really work and didn’t really wake up his team, because it was quite a gesture from young Hutson!

Brady Tkachuk, 26 years old, is a power forward standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 226 pounds, with 754 career penalty minutes in 518 NHL games.

Lane Hutson, 21 years old, is a defenseman standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 162 pounds, with 34 career penalty minutes in 109 NHL games.

Lo and behold, the two could quickly become teammates (possibly as early as the next Olympic Games) with Team USA.
