Colorado looks to extend its point streak tonight against the Islanders.
ELMONT, N.Y. — The Colorado Avalanche hit the road again, looking to extend their point streak Thursday against the New York Islanders. Coverage of the game begins at 4:30 p.m. on KTVD Channel 20.
November saw the end of Colorado’s impressive 10-game winning streak but the team’s point streak remained intact. Having not lost in regulation since Oct. 25 in Boston, the Avalanche enter Thursday’s game with a 17-game point streak.
Colorado currently sits atop the Central Division with a three point lead over the Dallas Stars. The Avalanche lead the league in goals scored (106) and fewest goals allowed (56) through 26 games. While the Avalanche haven’t been as good on the road, they have still managed post an 8-1-4 record away from Ball Arena.
The Islanders are currently in sixth place in a close Metropolitan Division. They are five points behind the Washington Capitals for the division lead. The Islanders are about as .500 as you can get at home, posting a 6-6-2 record in the 14 games they have hosted at UBS Arena.
