The young Montreal Canadiens forward, Juraj Slafkovsky, recently received very sad news.

One of his former teammates is currently fighting for his life after being involved in a serious car accident. The Slovak hockey community is extremely close-knit, and this news is shaking everyone right now.

A forward from HC Slovan Bratislava is currently fighting for his life in Bratislava, Slovakia, and the entire hockey world is holding its breath.

A former teammate of Juraj Slafkovsky and Filip Mesar has suffered a serious accident

We are talking about a 20-year-old young man, imagine. The accident was reportedly so violent that emergency responders transported the player to the hospital in Bratislava, where he is said to be in critical condition.

HC Slovan Bratislava made the following statement:

“Roman Kukumberg Jr. (2005) was involved in a serious traffic accident in the early morning hours on the road between Kvetoslavov and Samorin, after which he is now in an induced coma at the hospital in Kramáre. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for him!”

– HC Slovan Bratislava

“The Sting are deeply concerned to learn that former forward Roman Kukumberg was involved in a serious car accident in Slovakia and is in critical condition. We extend our thoughts and support to Roman and his family during this difficult time and hope for his full recovery.”

– Sarnia Sting (OHL)

We are thinking strongly of this young man and his family today.

Kukumberg notably played with Juraj Slafkovsky and Filip Mesar (of the Montreal Canadiens), as well as Simon Nemec (of the New Jersey Devils), in 2019-2020 on the Slovak U16 national team.
