The Edmonton Oilers picked up a big 9-4 win against the Seattle Kraken on Dec. 4. Former Buffalo Sabres prospect Matt Savoie undoubtedly played a role in the Oilers’ blowout win over the Kraken.Â
Savoie scored two goals in the Oilers’ victory over the Kraken. This is the first time in Savoie’s young NHL career that he has put together a multi-goal game, so this is a performance he should remember.Â
With his strong night against the Kraken, Savoie has now posted five goals, four assists, and nine points in 28 games this season. The 21-year-old forward has also recorded three goals and four points over his last five games, so he is starting to heat up for the Oilers.
Savoie was selected by the Sabres with the eighth-overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and was one of their top prospects before being traded to Edmonton during the 2024 NHL off-season. Savoie played in just one game for the Sabres during the 2023-24 season, where he was held off the scoresheet.Â
