Patrick Kane scored with 2:29 remaining in the third period Saturday to snap a tie and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-3 at Climate Pledge Arena.

Kane took a pass from Alex DeBrincat off the rush and fired a shot from the slot past goaltender Joey Daccord. It was his second goal in as many games following a nine-game goal-scoring drought, his fifth of the season and 497th of his career.

The Red Wings (15-11-3, 33 points) have gained points in their past three games (2-0-1).

John Gibson made 24 saves for his second win in a row following a six-game skid (0-5-1).

Emmitt Finnie (power play), Andrew Copp and James van Riemsdyk also scored for Detroit. Simon Edvinsson contributed a pair of assists.

Seattle fell to 11-9-6 (28 points).

The Red Wings visit Vancouver Monday in the third stop of their six-game road trip (10 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).

Van Riemsdyk scored with 28 seconds remaining in the second period to tie it at 3-3. He whipped in a shot during a two-on-one with Michael Rasmussen. It was his fifth goal in six games and sixth of the season.

Finnie opened the scoring at 7:06 of the first period by firing in a one-timer on a pass from Nate Danielson during a power play. It was his sixth goal.

Copp jammed the puck past Daccord at 5:10 of the second period to put the Red Wings ahead 2-1. It was his second goal of the season, ending a 26-game goal-scoring drought dating back to Oct. 11.

Brandon Montour, Adam Larsson and Chander Stephenson scored for Seattle.
