The Chicago Blackhawks (12-10-6) wrap up a four-game West Coast road trip against the Anaheim Ducks (17-10-1) at the Honda Center on Sunday. It’s the third and final matchup between these two teams in the 2025-26 season.
Chicago has won each of the first two meetings, defeating the Ducks 2-1 on Oct. 19 and 5-3 on Nov. 30, with both games being played at the United Center. The Blackhawks staged an epic comeback in the most recent duel, storming back from a 3-0 deficit to win 5-3 one week ago. Connor Bedard has recorded two goals and three assists in the two contests and has 16 points (3G, 13A) in eight career games versus Anaheim. His 16 points are also the most he’s tallied against a single opponent in his NHL career.
Last time out, the Blackhawks were waxed 6-0 by the Los Angeles Kings in the front end of the back-to-back on Saturday, getting shut out for only the second time this season. It was just the third time they’ve lost by more than two goals through their opening 28 games. After being the better team in the early going, the Blackhawks looked lifeless and let things unravel in the second and third periods.
The Ducks are coming off a 4-3 shootout win over the Washington Capitals and are 2-1-0 in three games since facing the Blackhawks last Sunday. Anaheim defeated the St. Louis Blues 4-1 on Monday and then were on the wrong end of a lopsided loss themselves, falling 7-0 to the Utah Mammoth on Wednesday.
With 35 points through 28 games, the Ducks sit at the top of the Pacific Division, one point clear of the second-place Vegas Golden Knights. Anaheim has the fifth-most points in the NHL and third-most in the Western Conference entering Sunday.
Here’s everything to note before the puck drops at 7:00 p.m. CT in Anaheim.
Blackhawks Regular Season Notes (Last Five Games)
The losing streak has reached five games after another one-goal loss on home ice to a Central Division opponent. The Blackhawks were defeated 4-3 by the last-place Nashville Predators. It’s been a dreadful start to the four-game homestand.
Connor Bedard exploded for his third four-point performance of the season to lift the Blackhawks to a 5-3 comeback victory over the Anaheim Ducks. Finally, the losing streak has ended.
For the fourth time in the last seven games, the Blackhawks squandered a third-period lead and lost by one goal. Some tough luck in Sin City also played a part in the 4-3 shootout defeat to the Vegas Golden Knights. Chicago is now 1-6 in overtime this season.
It got dicey towards the end, but the Blackhawks held off a late push from the Los Angeles Kings in a 2-1 win. Connor Bedard scored once again, while Spencer Knight had another lofty performance in goal.
In one of the few forgettable performances so far this season, the Blackhawks were steamrolled 6-0 by the Los Angeles Kings in the second meeting in three days. The game was close through 20 minutes, but the Blackhawks surrendered six unanswered goals in the final two periods.

The Blackhawks will not hold a morning skate in Anaheim after traveling from Los Angeles late Saturday night.
Teuvo Teravainen, who missed Saturday’s game against the Kings, is questionable to return to the lineup. Teravainen took a puck to the face and lost a few teeth in Thursday’s contest in Los Angeles. Ryan Donato was bumped up into Teravainen’s spot on the third line, while Sam Lafferty was inserted into the lineup for the first time since Nov. 23 on Saturday.
Should Teravainen miss a second straight game, that’s expected to be the lineup once again for the Blackhawks. If he plays, Lafferty will likely be a healthy scratch.
