Game Preview

Things have officially gotten squirrelly in the PNW: the Kraken have lost 4 straight and are now staring down the barrell of a Minnesota Wild team that is looking to get themselves right after spitting up their last 2 games in gruesome fashion. The Wild themselves are actually pretty good, so its a little confusing that they’re currently losing games they should have no business losing lately; having dropped decisions to Calgary and Vancouver within the last week, and a Shootout L to the Sabres not too far out of memory.

Thats small comfort for the Kraken however, who desperately need to get some points out of this homestand. While the Pacific remains like the rest of the league in that nobody’s really out of it, the Kraken have lost a lot of the ground they had over the last week or so and the Wild are no doubt VERY interested in getting something out of this trip, they should be ready for a serious push from Minnesota.

If the Kraken want to win, they need to attack their net and make it a priority: for whatever reason, the Wild seem incapable of controlling the netfront, which has likely caused quite a few of their issues. They also need to defend their net tightly, as they generally try to spend as much time up their opponent’s nose as possible. Keeping them to the outside will be paramount to taking that very talented roster outside of their comfort zone.

LETS GO KRAKEN!
