Vancouver Canucks forward Head Coach Adam Foote has revealed when Latvian forward Teddy Blueger may return from injury after nearly two months on the sidelines.

The Vancouver Canucks have had horrible luck in the injury department this season with several key players currently on the sidelines including Filip Chytil, Teddy Blueger and Derek Forbort, while goaltender Thatcher Demko is set to return to the lineup on Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres.

When speaking with reporters ahead of Monday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, Adam Foote gave an update on Teddy Blueger, saying that the 31-year-old is hoping to return to game action after Christmas.

“Foote says Blueger now hoping to be back after Xmas.” Jeff Paterson of Rink Wide: Vancouver said on X.

Whether it be in their first game after the holiday break on December 27th against the San Jose Sharks or in the final week of 2025 against Seattle or Philadelphia, the return of Teddy Blueger will finally bring some stability down the middle for Head Coach Adam Foote, who has been using David Kampf as his 1C for the last two contests due to an injury to Elias Pettersson.

Blueger’s return later this month is also big for General Manager Patrik Allvin after he made the pending unrestricted free agent available on the trade market, along with Kiefer Sherwood, Evander Kane & Derek Forbort, in late November and will need him to build up his value leading up to the deadline on Friday, March 6th.

In 152 games with the Vancouver Canucks, the former Stanley Cup champion has registered 55 points (15 goals, 40 assists), 70 penalty minutes, is a minus-three and has averaged 14:37 of ice time.
