SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana hockey team (8-5-2, 5-4-2 CCHA) continues its time on home ice as it plays host to No. 14 Minnesota State (11-3-4, 8-2-2 CCHA) in a key conference weekend.

Series History

Minnesota State holds an overall record of 3-0-1 against the Vikings. Last season at Minnesota State, Augustana fell by a score of 4-1 before it locked up the series sweep by a score of 2-1.

The Mavericks

Minnesota State (11-3-4, 8-2-2 CCHA) comes into the weekend atop the CCHA standings with 27 points. Last weekend, Minnesota State recorded a split against Ferris State. MSU downed the Bulldogs 5-1 last Friday before it fell 4-1 on Saturday. 

Tristen Lemyre leads the Mavericks with 10 goals and nine assists. Alex Tracy returned to the cage for Minnesota State and has played in all 18 games this season. The 2024-25 Mike Richter Award Finalist and 2024-25 Hobey Baker Award Top-10 Finalist has posted a goals against average of 1.81 and save percentage of .934 this season. 

The Vikings 

Augustana (8-5-2, 5-4-2 CCHA) remains undefeated on home ice in regulation play after it recorded a 1-0-1 weekend against Bemidji State. Augustana opened up the weekend with a 3-1 win before it tied the Beavers 4-4 to close out the weekend. 

Augustana has netted 39 goals through 15 games this season. Of the 39 goals, the Vikings have scored 19 in the third period. By period splits, 10-10-19 vs opponents 10-11-8-1. Freshman forward Jacob Jastrzebski has four goals and six assists through his first 15 career games for in the blue and gold. Another freshman forward, Leo Bulgakov, leads the Vikings with six goals and six assists through 14 games.
