Similarly, the men’s team is also doing a splendid job thus far in their season. Sitting seventh in the MIAC, with a record of 3–5–0, the season has begun with success. With their competition against the College of St. Scholastica, this run of accomplishments keeps going strong.

Over the weekend, both teams played in a home-and-home series against St. Scholastica.

On the women’s side, the first game of the series was an exciting one.

During the first period, junior Abigail Chamernick and sophomore Calie Peterson made several attempts to score, but were unfortunately unable to.

Sophomore Harper Powell began in the net for the Pipers and had an incredible run in goal with 31 saves during the game.

Hamline’s first goal occurred in the second period, when first-year Ella Rothe scored a power play goal early in the period. This was assisted by sophomore Ashlyn Abrahamson and senior Iyla Ryskamp.

Later in the period, St. Scholastica scored two goals, putting them in the lead at the end of the period.

To start the third period, both teams came out with fire. However, nothing happened until Hamline pulled the goalie for an extra attacker. This ended successfully, with the Pipers tying the game 2–2 with 15 seconds left and forcing the game into overtime.

Overtime for the Pipers was very thrilling. With Scholastica winning the faceoff, things looked uncertain; however, Abrahamson scored the winning goal after multiple attempts, securing the 3–2 victory for the Pipers.

On the men’s side, there was a very similar situation. Starting the first game of the series with a 4–3 victory for Hamline, the game was anything but boring.

The game began with the Saints scoring first.

During this time, Hamline’s defense was strong, especially with goaltender junior Keaton French, who defended against 24 shots during the game.

The Pipers evened the score with a goal from junior Per Waage, and ending the first period in a 1–1 tie.

The second period was the dealbreaker for the game. Junior AJ Carls used the advantage of a power play to score the first goal of the period, creating a 2–1 lead.

The lead was increased towards the end of the period with a goal from junior Nikolai Dulak, making the score 3–1. Their lead was increased one more time with a goal by senior Liam Guerin at the 16:26 mark.

At this point, the Saints pushed back and scored two goals, narrowing the space between scores to one. However, the Pipers prevailed, and even with an empty net and a timeout, the Saints failed to come back.
