Per reports, the Philadelphia Flyers were forced to implement added security measures around the Golden Knights bench for the return of ex-Flyer Carter Hart, who didn’t start but would be on the bench as backup.

Former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart, who is now with the Vegas Golden Knights after he became eligible to play in NHL games again starting on December 1, is making his first appearance back in Philadelphia tonight.

He didn’t get the start, but he was on the ice for warmups to a smattering of some noticeable boos from the fans at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

And per reports from ESPN analyst Emily Kaplan, the Flyers were forced to implement enhanced security measures around the Golden Knights bench where Hart was situated as the backup.

She also confirmed that the Flyers had no plans of a “welcome back” type video tribute that has become normal practice in the NHL for notable players returning to their former venues wearing a new sweater.

Ex-Flyers Goalie Carter Hart Is Now With The Vegas Golden Knights

After he was ruled eligible to return to the NHL, Hart signed with the Golden Knights and got in playing time with their American Hockey League affiliate Henderson Silver Knights.

After the the calendar flipped to December, he became eligible to start competing in NHL games again, and was soon called up to the Golden Knights.

So far in his return to the NHL, Hart is 2-0-1 with a .889 SV%.

During his time with the Flyers, who took him with the 48th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and once viewed him as their franchise goalie of the future, he went 96-93-29 with a .906 SV%.
