BLAINE — The Willmar WarHawks got off to a hot start at the NA3HL Showcase on Sunday.
The WarHawks had seven skaters score in their 9-0 win over New Jersey at the National Sports Center. Willmar is 10-12-2-0 in the West Division. The Titans are 9-15-2-1 in the East Division.
Logan Woods led the WarHawks. The forward from West Bend, Wisconsin netted a hat trick in the third period. He has 10 goals and six assists in 24 games.
Mikko Brown, a forward from Lappeenranta, Finland, scored one goal and tallied game-highs of three assists and four points. He has four goals and 14 assists in 14 games.
Aidan Callaghan and Mason Wanka supplied one goal and two assists each for Willmar.
Callaghan, a forward from Chicago, Illinois, has 10 goals and 21 assists in 20 games. Wanka, a forward from Rogers, has 10 goals and 13 assists in 17 games.
Sam Moen, a goaltender from Vadnais Heights, earned a 30-save shutout for the WarHawks, who went 3-for-4 on the power-play and totaled 58 shots on goal.
Willmar plays the West Texas Wranglers at 3:15 p.m. Monday at the National Sports Center.
