ST. LOUIS, Missouri – The final night of the NHL season for the Utah Hockey Club came to an unceremonious end with a 6-1 loss to the playoff-bound St. Louis Blues.
The Blues (44-30-8, 96 points) are hosting Utah HC (38-31-13, 89 points) on Tuesday, April 15, at the Enterprise Center. Utah was eliminated from playoff contention last week, but the Blues clinched a playoff birth with the regulation win. The Minnesota Wild and Calgary Flames are the only Western Conference teams remaining for playoff contention.
Utah HC opened the night with a 2-1 season-series lead. Utah claimed back-to-back 4-2 wins in early November and mid-January. The Blues handed Utah a 2-1 loss on February 2. Connor Ingram made Utah’s only start between the pipes in St. Louis, making 15 saves in his team’s 4-2 win.

One night after playing in his 600th NHL game, Captain Clayton Keller enters the final game of the year leading his team in several offensive categories. The eighth-year center has a career-high 60 assists and 89 points. His 29 goals are two more than Dylan Guenther’s 27 and equal the third-most in his career.
Guenther leads the team with 12 power-play goals, and his nine game-winners are tied with six players for the third-most in the NHL.
Karel Vejmelka has stepped into the primary goalkeeper’s role and has been terrific all season. ‘Veggie’ is ninth in the league with 2.52 goals against. His .906 save percentage is 18th in the NHL.

Since Feb. 23 #UtahHC is tied for the seventh most points in the NHL with a 14-6-4 record.
I know the playoffs would’ve been fun but the goal was to play meaningful hockey and they delivered those types of games.

3 Utah skaters crashed on the puck carrier which left Buchnevich wide open on the backdoor for an easy one-timer.
Rough start for the Club. https://t.co/ripM8XhO5N

The power play has given Utah a little bit of life here in the second.
They’re moving the puck, getting to the net, and generating opportunities.
4 goal deficit is just hard to come back from.

Much better period for Utah as they outshot the Blues 14-9 and led the period 1-0.
Still a lot of ground to make up in the third though. https://t.co/9CRgF3tF6N

Hayton was going right at Joseph down on the ice.
Some frustrations may have boiled over there.
Hayton received a minor for tripping and a 10-minute misconduct. His season is done.
