Farmington 10, Century/JM 2

ROCHESTER — Rochester Century/John Marshall hung with Farmington for a period in Tuesday’s non-conference boys hockey game, but the Tigers pounced on the Panthers in the second period and pulled away for a big win at Graham Arena 4.

Century/JM received a power-play goal from Jarek Solak 7:40 into the game, tying the score 1-1. But Farmington answered with just 80 seconds to go in the period, a Will Harris goal putting them ahead for good.

The Tigers (6-0-1 overall) scored five goals in the second period to stretch their lead to 7-1 after two.

Gustavs Baltavics added a goal for Century/JM in the third period.

The Panthers (4-5-0 overall) host Blake at 7 p.m. Friday at Graham Arena.

WINONA — Dodge County’s big offensive weapons had a big night Tuesday as the Wildcats earned a victory at section rival Winona, 5-2.

The Wildcats’ top line of Nolan Steele, Gabe Coshenet and Camryn Koch combined for 10 points in the win. Steele scored two goals and assisted on two, Coshenet scored once and added three assists, and Koch had two assists in the win.

Wes Wegner took care of the rest in goal, making 14 saves.

Landen Gunderson and Cooper Bebee also scored once each for the Wildcats, who improved to 4-2-0 overall.

Winona, which drops to 4-4-0 this season, received 32 saves from Seth Watkins and goals from Jack Jerowski and Brennan Hines.

Dodge Coutny hosts Albert Lea at 7 p.m. Thursday in another key matchup of Section 1, Class 1A rivals and title hopefuls.
